Video games are classified as electronic games in which the player interacts with an input device / user interface such as a:
- controller
- keyboard
- screen (in some cases)
- motion sensing device
These input devices give the video game feedback. This feedback is shown on a visual display device, such as a television set, a monitor, a tablet, or a virtual reality headset, among other things. Video games are often enhanced with aural feedback given via speakers or headphones, as well as with other sorts of input, such as haptic technologies, to enhance the whole experience. Computer games are not all video games; for example, text adventure games, chess, and other board games do not need a graphical display to function.
Video games can bring real-life and social benefits such as the topic of identifying costs and occasions for which one must "save up" resources or that playing video games has also been demonstrated to improve problem-solving abilities, spatial and hand-eye coordination skills, as well as eyesight and speed abilities in participants.
